Wallet data and your rights

MirrorWhales publishes rankings and performance histories of public blockchain wallets that trade on Polymarket. This page explains what is processed, why, and how to object.

Who is responsible

MirrorWhales (personal project, non-professional publisher under LCEN Art. 1-1, II) is the data controller, reachable at contact@mirrorwhales.com. This page will be replaced by the full privacy policy once the operating entity is registered; the rights described below apply now, not from that date.

What is processed

  • A public blockchain address.
  • The public display name the trading venue associates with it, if any.
  • The profile picture the trading venue publishes for that address, if the account has one. A copy of that image is stored on our own servers and served from this site — your browser never contacts the trading venue to load it. Accounts without a picture are shown as initials; no image is requested or stored for them.
  • Aggregate figures the venue publishes for that address — rank, profit and loss, traded volume — captured once per day and retained as a history.

No identity document, no email address and no contact detail is collected about wallet holders, and no attempt is made to link a wallet to a named individual. The only off-chain data processed are the public display name and the public profile picture the venue itself publishes beside the address.

Legal basis

Legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): providing transparent, verifiable analysis of publicly published market participation. The data is already public, the processing is limited to aggregate performance figures, and no attempt is made to re-identify a holder.

A display name and a picture make an address easier to connect to a person than the address alone. Both are published by the trading venue for the express purpose of identifying the account on its own public leaderboard, and neither is enriched, cross-referenced, or combined with any other source here. If the balance still comes out against publication for you, the objection route below applies to the picture as it does to everything else.

Retention

Daily observations are retained for as long as the ranking service operates, because the historical record — the fact that a figure was what it was on a given day — is the service. An accepted request removes the address from every public page, and the cached image is deleted from our servers at the same time — not merely hidden. The picture is deleted with the rest of the record.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or object to the processing entirely. Write to contact@mirrorwhales.com from any channel and identify the address concerned. Requests are answered within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.

To prove control of the address, sign the message mirrorwhales-erasure with the wallet key and include the signature. Any other reasonable evidence is accepted; a signature is the fastest route, not the only one.
